As summer winds down, it’s easy to think the busy season for community parks is behind us, but for Friends of Noyes Park, this is one of the most important times of the year.
The work we do in the garden beds, the events we organize, like the annual Halloween Parade and Party, and the improvements we advocate for throughout the park all rely on community support. Whether you’ve joined us for a garden clean-up, brought your kids to play, or simply enjoyed the green space on a sunny afternoon, there’s a way for you to help us keep Noyes Park active, welcoming, and thriving.
Here are five meaningful ways to support Friends of Noyes Park before the summer ends:
1. Donate to Support Our Work (and Our Halloween Parade and Party)
We are proud to organize the beloved Brookland Halloween Parade and Party, a family-friendly neighborhood tradition that brings together local residents, businesses, performers, and community organizations. But like everything we do, it depends on support from people like you.
Your donation helps cover essentials like decorations, permits, signage, candy, refreshments, and entertainment. Every dollar makes a difference.
Make a tax-deductible contribution to Friends of Noyes Park to support the Halloween Parade and year-round efforts to maintain and improve the park. A donation of $25 buys supplies for a garden workday. $50 would help with tables and chairs for the Halloween event. $100 or more helps us reach even more families with programming.

2. Become a Halloween Parade & Party Sponsor
Are you a local business owner or do you work for an organization that supports community causes? We’re looking for corporate and neighborhood sponsors to help make this year’s Halloween Parade and Party bigger and better.
Sponsorship packages include visibility in our event signage, social media, and outreach — and connect your brand with one of Brookland’s most anticipated events.
It’s a great way to give back to the community, support public parks, and help make Halloween magical for hundreds of local families.

3. Volunteer for an Upcoming Park Clean-Up
We show up once a month and we are grateful to the neighbors, families, students, and garden lovers who show up with us throughout the year to weed, mulch, plant, and beautify Noyes Park.
We host regular volunteer days in partnership with community members and local organizations. These events are family-friendly, hands-on, and a great way to meet your neighbors while making a visible impact.

4. Attend an Upcoming Public Board Meeting
Want to learn more about what we’re working on or help shape the future of Noyes Park? Join us for our public board meeting, to be held in late summer/early fall.
It’s an opportunity to hear updates on current initiatives, share ideas, ask questions, and connect with other community members who care about this green space. Whether you're new to the neighborhood or a long-time resident, your voice matters.
Details and RSVP info will be posted soon, so follow us for more information.
5. Follow Us Online and Help Spread the Word
Not everyone can volunteer or donate — but simply following us on Instagram or Facebook and sharing our posts helps us reach more neighbors, raise awareness, and grow our support.
We post gardening tips, event announcements, photos from around the park, and opportunities to get involved. Every share helps strengthen our community network.
