Take a look at what we've been up to:
We operate and maintain the community garden within Noyes Park. The community garden season runs from April through October and is open to the general public. Registration for garden plots takes place in January and is completed though the Friend of Noyes Park website via the garden plot registration form. A map of the garden area can be found here.
Monthly Park Clean-ups
FoNP coordinates cleanup events the second Saturday of the month from April through October. Cleanups generally run from 10 AM to noon, but check our Facebook and Twitter for regular updates and pictures from events. Our cleanups are a great opportunity for community service! Please contact FoNP if your group is interested in coordinating involvement in our cleanups.
Native Species Garden
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation selected Noyes Park as its Ward 5 recipient of a native species garden in April 2015. The garden is roughly 60 square feet and contains flowers and plants which thrive in our climate and attract butterflies and hummingbirds to the park.
With the support of ANC5b04, the Friends of Noyes Park were able to complete the installation of roses adjacent to the park identification signs. These roses beautify the park and reduce the potential for future vandalism of the park entrance signs.
Thanks to donations from the community, the Friends of Noyes Park are able to complete seasonal maintenance of the large planting beds located at the two park entrances.
