2019 Brookland Halloween Parade and Party

Event Details

The 2019 Halloween Parade and Party will take place on Saturday, October 26th. The event includes a parade and a party afterward. Here's how timing will work for the entire event:

  • Parade Line Up (1:30PM): Attendees should meet at St. Anthony's (3400 12th Street NE) and begin lining up for the parade.

  • Parade Route (starting ~1:45/2PM): Parade attendees will process south on 12th Street from St. Anthony's, staying on the sidewalk on the western side of the street, to Noyes Park (Franklin Street between 10th & 12th Streets, NE).

  • Party (2:30PM - 4:30PM): The Friends of Noyes Park will host a family-friendly Halloween Party (details below) from 2:30 - 4:30PM at Noyes Park (Franklin Street between 10th & 12th Streets NE).

For those joining for the party only, parking is available on street, as well as in the Noyes Elementary School parking lot.

In the event of rain, St. Anthony's will serve as the rain location for the entirety of the event. Sign up for weather/location alerts about this event.>>

Party Details

This year's party will feature a variety of games, activities, and entertainment for all to enjoy! Here's a preview of the spooky spectacle we have in store for you:

  • The Haunted Pavillion: Come visit our pavillion with an eerie twist! A mad scientist has taken over our pavillion, and his mysterious laboratory with a neon slime experiment has gone very wrong! Erlenmeyer flasks with illuminated water experiments, smoked ground, and spooky pumpkins will be a provide a ghastly display for your enjoyment (and your photo ops)!

  • Beastly Bean Bag Toss, Hair-Raising Ring Toss, Boogeyman Bowling, and Phantom Potato Sack Races: Just what they sound like! Meet us on the park green for a tricky twist on these classic activities.

  • Make & Take Slime with the Mad Scientists of Washington DC: Visit the spine-chilling Polymer Booth from 2:30-4:30PM to create some of your very own gruesome gak!

  • Pumpkin Decorating & Face Painting: There will be a limited number of small/medium pumpkins available for decorating (and taking home!), along with face painting stations! Get creative with your favorite dreadful design!

  • Double Dutch with the DC Retro Jumpers: Up for a challenge? Check out this double dutch drill, followed by an audience demonstration on freestyle moves, how to enter and exit jump ropes and partner jumping, and challenging games for participants. (Demonstration will run from 3PM - 4PM).

There will also be a beastly balloon artist and chilling craft activities!

Don't forget your trick-or-treat bag! Treat yourself to thrilling trinkets, creepy candy, petrifying prizes, scream-y stickers, and more!

Pizza, cookies (courtesy of Captain Cookie & The Milk Man!) and other nut-free snacks, along with juice boxes will be served. Please bring a reusable water bottle, as we will have a large water cooler available.
